Classifications


1.Hi-Hat Type


 


The hi-hat cymbal is composed of upper and lower cymbals.Complicated skills can be carried out by use of pedal under the bracket.This kind of product is used to fixed tempo together with the snare drum or to make complicated and changeable rhythms by itself.Its common size is 14”and 13”.


 


2.Crush Type


The crush type is used to emphasize the stress,thus generally the striking force is great.Its diameter is from 16 inch to 19 inch.In mose cases,one 16 inch product works with a 18 inch one and these two products are placed on the left and right sides,respectively.


3.Ride Type


 


The ride cymbal gets the same because the surface will produce tinkling souds when being stricken.It is used for the production of fixed tempo and the pitch is higher than that of the hi-hat type.this type of product can also provide of deep and low tones.Its explosive force and volume are both inferior to those of crash type, respectively.The ride type usually ranges from 20 inch to 24 inch.


4.Splash Type


 


The splash type is a member fo the effect cymbals.It produces short and fast tones.The common size includes 8’,10’, and 12’.


 


Maintenance


 


1.The cymbal should be put into the attached bag.The good ones are usually wrapped with separation cloth.Thus, each product can be put separate from others.If the bag has no such separation cloth or you have no such a bag,then this product can be placed into the big plastic bag which is given when the product is bought.It should be located in the lightproof ventilated places instead of the wet center position.


2.Before being used,the products should be picked out from the bag by the operator wearing a pair of glove.If having no glove,the operator shold hold the edge and not leave fingerprints on the products.This is because the grease and water on the hands will make the products rusty..After being used,this musical instrument should be wiped with the dry cloth.The fingerprints,sweat as well as white spot left by the drum stick should be wiped away,or else they will be hard to be removed once in a long time.


3.When not used,the product should be cleaned,regularly with relatively soft cloth,not using any oil or water.All the stains on the product should be rinsed.


4.When used for a very long time, the cymbal is inevitably exposed to some stains even though it is well maintained.In such a case,the relevant oil and wax should be bought.First,apply the oil to the product in an appropriate amount,or else the product surface will be corroded.Moreover ,when given too much oil,this product will become thinner.After the stains are removed with the oil,specified, wax will be applied to protect the product from rust.It can be used for new products.
